Ordination Path: Called, Trained, Commissioned
Ordination is not automatic at Kairos Institute of Sacred Sciences.
The path is a sacred commissioning given to those who have completed specific training and demonstrated a life aligned with The Word. Ordination is granted by K.I.S.S., as both the school and the ordaining body, to graduates who are ready to serve as ministers, spiritual leaders, and healers in the world.
Who is eligible for ordination?
Ordination is available to graduates who complete MA 430: Pastoral Leadership for Ordination and MA 490: Capstone Integrative Project.
- Through these courses, students must demonstrate:
- Effective application of the tools and frameworks learned in the BA/MA in Spiritual Divinity.
- The ability to translate spiritual and psychological learning into lasting lifestyle changes.
- Competency as a leader and disciplined example of The Word in both personal and professional life.
Capstone: Ordination Ministry Project
As part of MA 490, each ordination student designs and carries out a ministry project that contributes to the greater good. This might include:
- A community garden
- A support group for overwhelmed parents or others in need
- A food train for new moms
- A meditation group
- Monthly beach clean‑ups
- A homeschool program based on Kairos’ frameworks
Through this project, the student demonstrates that ministry flows from living The Word and raising the collective vibration by their presence and service. Rooted in Christian mysticism, this path sees Jesus Christ as the living Word and the model of a life fully surrendered to God and poured out in love for others.
Commissioning and Responsibility
Once ordained, ministers are commissioned to represent Kairos with respect and integrity in all forms of ministry, teaching, and leadership. There are no rigid denominational requirements, but each minister is expected to:
- Teach and live in alignment with Kairos’ core values and spiritual vision, centered on Christ and the living Word.
- Serve with humility, wisdom, and compassion, following the way of Christ in spirit and truth.
- Maintain a posture of ongoing growth, accountability, and service to the greater good.
Ordination through Kairos is the beginning of a lifelong calling to live as a sacred presence, a healing force, and a living expression of Christ’s love in the world.
